Praglia Abbey is a Benedictine monastery situated near the Euganean Hills (municipality of Teolo) at about 12 km from Padua. It has been founded between the XI and XII Centuries by the Abbot Iselberto dei Tadi that received the pontificial protecton by Callisto II. The actual complex has been rebuilded between the second half of the XV and the first half of the XVI century. Only the bell tower is part of the original installation. Inside beyond the unfailing and very evocative cloisters we find paints of the venetian artists Zelotti and Tessari. The visits to the monastery are possible all the days (but not in monday and in the religious great festivity). A monk will drive you at the discovery of this wonderful place, telling its history and curiosity. The visit is free you can made an offer. At the end of the visit I advise you to enter in the abbey shop where you can products made by the monks as candies, wine, shampoo, honey and books.
